Texas State Capitol Educational Exhibit: Economics of a Regulated Cannabis Market

The Texas Legislature has been in session for six weeks and dozens of marijuana-related bills​ have been introduced, including proposals to create a regulated cannabis market. We are at the Capitol sharing imperative information through our educational exhibit. This display cover important topics like job creation, new revenue streams, criminal justice savings and more. We were honored to collaborate with our coalition, Texans for Responsible Marijuana Policy, on the creation and production of this exhibit. Check out our upcoming seminar on this topic. Economics of a Regulated Cannabis Market (3/6/21)

As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, Texas has to re-evaluate how we operate as a state. This includes the way we do business and how we choose to utilize resources. Our united goals are to keep Texans safe and keep our economy moving.  A growing number of states have embraced regulatory frameworks to allow for businesses to grow, manufacture and sell cannabis to those that are over the age of 21. Informed Texas will cover effective tax rates vs prohibitive rates, number of potential consumers, estimated sales per customer, job growth, revenue, criminal justice impacts and more. Cannabis and Pain Seminar (2/27/21)

Join Informed Texas for this educational seminar on Cannabis and Pain. There is mounting interest among patients and healthcare professionals about the clinical benefits of medical cannabis for various ailments, most commonly for pain relief. A large body of clinical research and a history of anecdotal evidence support the use of cannabis for pain relief.  With a growing number of states enacting robust medical cannabis programs, the most common use for medical cannabis in the US is for pain control. We will examine cannabis’ efficacy, safety profile and impact on opioid use with Pain Specialist Robert Marks, MD and Chase Bearden, T.CUP patient and Deputy Executive Director of Coalition of Texans with Disabilities.
