This event is being hosted in the Heritage Room located in the Christian Life Center. Entrance to the center is located on 27th Street.

Rick Sitton,
Senior Pastor
Rev. Rick Sitton is senior pastor of First United Methodist Church Bryan, Texas since June 2011. Rev. Sitton has served over 31 years as a pastor in the United Methodist Church including in Lumberton, Crockett, Houston and the Tyler area. He is a 1987 graduate of Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky where he graduated with honors earning his Masters of Divinity degree. He is married to Karen Sitton since 1978 and together they care for their grandson, Jacob, who is age 10. Jacob has special needs including autism and apraxia of speech. It is Jacob's needs and the needs of people like Jacob, that has caused Rev. Sitton to be an advocate for the legal right to seek medical treatment that is in the best interest of those in need, including medical marijuana.
Judge John Delaney
Judge John Delaney is a Senior District Judge for the State of Texas, with over 34 years experience handling felony criminal cases as well as civil and family cases. He currently handles all child abuse and neglect cases for his home county. A 5th generation Texan, husband, father, grandfather, U.S. Navy veteran, graduate of Princeton University and The University of Texas School of Law, he frequently speaks and writes about our state and federal drug laws and their tragic unintended consequences.
Ret. Major David Bass
Major David Bass retired from the U.S. Army in 2006 with twenty-one years of active military service. He was a Communications Officer in the Signal Corps. He is a veteran of Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. David commanded the 304th Maintenance Company at Logistics Base Echo and at King Khalid Military City in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm. He was the Communications Officer of the 1st Cavalry Division Support Command at Camp Taji, Iraq, during Operation Iraqi Freedom II in 2004-2005. He participated in the Troops to Teachers program and currently teaches American Literature and Creative Writing at Ellison High School in Killeen, Texas.
Jax Finkel, Informed Texas
Jax Finkel is Executive Director for Foundation for an Informed Texas (FIT), a 501c3 nonprofit focused on providing Texans with knowledge about cannabis. FIT recently released a rural education program. . She has been involved in cannabis education since 2005. She created curriculum, helped organize and execute regional trainings during 2015, ’16 and “17.
Dr. Wendy Askew
Dr. Wendy Askew is a private practice physician specializing in Gynecology along with Functional and Regenerative Medicine at Dr. Rogers Centers in San Antonio. She is a veteran of the USAF, where she served on active duty for over 11 years. During her nearly 20-year career in medicine, she has participated in medical missions, served on various hospital committees, taught in academic medicine programs, and built a thriving private practice. Dr. Askew hosts a vlog, entitled The Whole Truth, and is a contributing medical editor for several San Antonio publications.
Dr. Askew has recently made a professional transition, out of obstetrics to focus her expertise on wellness and hormonal health (for men and women), gynecology, and the incredibly rewarding field of regenerative medicine. This field employs various tools to boost the body’s natural ability to heal itself, and whenever possible to replace and regenerate cells and often, to restore normal function.
Dr. Askew is an advocate for the use of medical cannabis for a variety of health conditions and is a member of the American Academy of Cannabinoid Medicine.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, including her daughters, Hannah and Sophie, her husband Sam, and their three rescue pets. She loves traveling, exercising, reading, meditation, meeting new people, and personal & professional growth.
